Mr Silly has bought a farm. But as you can imagine, he has some very silly ideas about how to run it, like using the farm cat to herd the sheep and the sheepdog to collect the eggs! Who will help to put everything right? The Mr Men and Little Miss Every Day series takes Roger Hargreaves’ beloved characters on trips and activities that children will recognise from their own lives. All the Every Day Adventures have a ‘Where’s Walter’ feature with Walter the worm hiding in every story making for a fun and interactive reading experience for children aged two years and up.

The colourful characters have been delighting children since Mr Tickle first appeared on bookshelves in 1971.', The Independent
'The timeless Mr Men books capture modern stereotypes perfectly.', The Telegraph
'The Mr Men and Little Miss characters remain a cultural phenomenon, whose impact is felt far beyond the nursery bookshelf.', The Telegraph
It all started with a tickle. Roger Hargreaves’ son Adam asked him what a tickle looked like. In response, Roger drew a small orange man with extraordinarily long arms that could reach anywhere and tickle anyone. The idea that a tickle could be a character in its own right sparked an idea in Roger’s mind. Roger was a successful copywriter but he wanted to do something that would enable him to work from home and spend more time with his four children. He wondered if he could make a living writing and illustrating children’s books so he wrote the first Mr Men titles: Mr Tickle, Mr Greedy, Mr Happy, Mr Nosey, Mr Sneeze and Mr Bump. The books were an instant hit and Roger went on to create many more Mr Men and Little Miss characters. What Roger really wanted was to make children laugh. Mr Silly was his favourite Mr Men story and, according to his family, encapsulates his humour most closely. Sadly Roger passed away in 1988, but his son Adam took over the series, introducing new characters and exciting new adventures. Roger once said, ‘I feel very happy to think that when the Mr Men and Little Misses are 100 years old, their readers will always be five.’

I am disappointed in the very slow delivery of 2 physical gift cards (purchased online) from the Exclusive Books site. It took almost 2 weeks to get this tiny package to the recipient - well after his special birthday. I recognise I could have selected a digital voucher (and now wish I had) but I felt - still feel - that receiving an actual 'something' is more fun than opening an email. I hope that Ex Bks can sort out the delivery issue because books still make the best gifts!
I was truly blessed to hear this book read aloud by the author herself. As a teacher, I have to give Refiloe five stars as she held those six year old's in the palm of her hand. If any of you know children, you know they have the concentration of a flea! The children, however, were spellbound, for just under a hour. When I reflected back on how successful the author's visit was I realized, it was the content of the book that captured their hearts. Every child could relate to one or other theme that was addressed in this beautifully illustrated book. If truth be told, it was also magnificently presented. Refiloe is a dynamic orator. Many more schools need to have her books on their library shelves and allow her to grace them with her presence.
Overall, "Atomic Habits" is a must-read for anyone looking to understand the science of habit formation and make lasting changes in their behaviour. Clear's insights and strategies are applicable to individuals in all walks of life, from students and professionals to athletes and entrepreneurs.
I have learned so much about myself with these cards and if you are feeling called to get them in South Africa (or wherever, really), Exclusive Books has you covered. Delivery 5/5, communication 4/5 (3-5 day response times) and package 4/5 (didn't arrive wrapped like I selected - product in new/excellent condition). Overall, an incredibly favourable experience and would recommend! x
